Why .Mac's increase in disk size may be a bad thing...

Comments

Even if I turn off the sync function in the preferences or try to unmount the iDisk, I still have lost u huge chunk GB on my Hard Disk. Here are my questions: What must I do to get it to ignore the iDisk all together (so that I can regain some space? Secondly is there a way to have Spotlight search inside the iDisk? So far it would seem that Spotlight won't pick up anything in the iDisk. Am I correct?
[this is good]
Basically, you need to go into your .Mac prefs (online via www.mac.com) and decrease the total amount of your iDisk to just above what you are currently using and apply the rest of the 10GB to your email balance. That is the only work around I know of currently.

Spotlight should search your iDisk as long as you have syncing turned on so that a copy of it is available for Spotlight at all times. After setting up your iDisk the way you want it (see above) reset the Spotlight data base via the System Prefs and make it re-index your HD. It will take awhile, but it should then index your iDisk contents.
